General rules of civil proceedings

The civil proceedings involve at least two opposing parties: one is the plaintiff and the other is the defendant. The plaintiff is the person bringing the action, the defendant is the person against whom the action is brought. The lawsuit may also involve an intervener. The intervener is a person who has a legal interest in the success of either of the parties. The intervener may intervene, either voluntary or by being summoned to appear, on behalf of a party in the same interest with a view to facilitating his success.
